Seriously. How shallow do you think we are?? HAHAH!

Okay. Since my birthday’s coming up, I guess it’s not a sin for me to make myself a wish list, aiight? Besides, now it will be easier for you to find a perfect gift for me; or at least it will give you some idea…

Haha!

1. Any Architectural References. Well, I’m an architect in progress (or, an Architecture Student, to be exact). So I need References. I need to see as many precedence as possible. That kind of book will be a perfect gift for me. Such as Indonesian Architecture, Karya Arsitek Indonesia, Great Architects in The 20th century. Just any good architecture books, with great photos, and great…buildings, I guess.
2. The Movie Book of Answers. I heard about this book from her blog, and I think the book is a lot of fun. It has quotes from Hollywood’s classic movies; and it is one of those books that you can ask a question, and then it gives you an answer. You don’t have to believe it, of course, but still it’s a lot of fun!
3. Mark Haddon’s ‘The Talking Horse and the Sad Girl and the Village Under the Sea‘. So I read his ‘Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night-Time’; and I found it very amusing. I have an account in goodreads and I find that some of my friends have reviewed this book, and I’m very interested.
4. Also, if you happen to own a copy of Tim Burton’s ‘Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories‘, that would be a great gift for me as well. Well I have read the online version, and I liked the book so much. I mean, it’s Tim Burton, man!
5. Collector’s Edition of ‘The Lord of The Rings Trilogy’ DVD. Well, I adore the books and Mr. Tolkien himself. And I give credits to Mr. Jackson to make such an incredible and unforgettable trilogy based on the books. Yet, The Collector Edition still has so much to give to the fans of the Middle Earth creatures such I am (a fan, not a Middle Earth creature). It’s been in my wish list since christmas 2004, and I know that I’m gonna get it someday, somehow. Haha!
6. Mac Book. Oh, I know I won’t get it from any of my friends.. But still, I’ve been craving for this item since.. well, a couple of months now. Yea. I was craving for the red one, but since Miss Echa’s already own it, so other colors will do. Yea, I guess it’s that time of the year that I can call my Dad and ask, ‘Daddy, I want a Mac Book. NOW!’ Haha. Such a spoiled brat I am.
7. Sean Lennon’s ‘Friendly Fire‘ CD. Man, I love this gentleman. I love all his songs, which I downloaded (illegally) from the internet. I think having an original copy of the album will be awesome. And may be a ticket to see his upcoming performance will be great too (since I missed Lollapalooza!)…
8. Kelinci. Yes, I want a bunny for my birthday. I’m gonna name it… Lolla (if it’s a girl); and Rambo (if it’s a black, macho male-bunny). Well, I had a little bunny when I was little. But I didn’t do well with them. If someone get me a bunny on my birthday, I promise I’ll do my best to take care of it!

Well, since 8 is my favorite number, I’m gonna stop the wish list right here. But it pretty much gives you some idea of what I like and what I dislike, aiight? Well, I’m not hoping for an extravagant birthday this year, just a nice time with friends and family, I hope. But it’s okay to dream of an extravagant presents, isn’t it?

I’m so fed up with the useless thoughts of:

• how our country (read: capital city) is getting more and more unfair to poor people, we only spoil the rich even more and more everyday
• global warming, pollution, and our contribution in making our earth the worst place to live in
• how the precious profession of an architect is, on the other hand, giving the contribution on both subjects above with ‘our’ impressive designs; considering how sometimes we just build, build, build, and forgetting the importance of environment sustainability AND social developments. those are the two important matters that most of us seem to be missing.

…and I’m so fed up with myself. who can only think, ask questions, and be cynical about it; but do nothing about it.
